Tickets in high demand for South West Charity Conference

The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference 2020 is set to be fantastic day with over 180 people already signed up to attend – beating last year’s delegate figure with a month to go by 80%.

The event is taking place at Bath Racecourse on Thursday 6th February, and the conference and expo will be an opportunity for local businesses, charities and not-for-profits, to connect, share learnings, and go for growth.

Much of the day is free to attend thanks to sponsorship from Bath Racecourse, Wealth Management and Employee Benefits firm Fidelius Group, Milsted Langdon Chartered Accountants and Stone King law. A full programme of keynote speakers and seminars has been prepared drawing on feedback from 2019’s event, offering real value to attendees.

Fidelius Group is hosting a Giving Bank for attendees to pin what skills, time, or financial support businesses or individuals can donate. All offers of support will be matched with not-for-profits who would value the support.

The day starts with a networking breakfast at 7:30am and the expo element will officially open at 9am. Organisations signed up to exhibit on the day include, Metro Bank, Bath University, Ojo Solutions, Naturally Social, Bike the UK, People against Poverty, Cornwall Glass, the Forever Friends Appeal, Jamie’s Farm, 3SG and event sponsors Milsted Langdon, Stone King and Fidelius Group.

There are 8 seminars planned for the day with the first one starting at 9:45am. All the seminar sessions are FREE to attend and are designed to ensure everyone leaves feeling refreshed, motivated and ready to implement changes and make a difference to their organisation this year and beyond.

Charities Vital Signs Report with Quartet Foundation –  Time: 09:45 – 10:15.

Quartet Community Foundation will deliver the findings of its 2019 report which focuses on ten key areas of interest, mapping trends, highlighting strengths and identifying areas of improvement in the ways that charities work.

 

What support is available to local charities with 3SG – Time: 10:20am-10:50am

James Carlin, founder of 3SG, the thriving, independent, membership network that supports the charity, social, enterprise, faith and voluntary sector throughout Bath & North East Somerset, will inform delegates of the support available to them locally and how 3SG helps organisations connect and grow.

 

Social Media Workshop Shine Online with Naturally Social – Time: 10:55am – 11:25am

Natalie Luckham, founder of Naturally Social will deliver an unmissable session on how to stand out on social media. The session will be packed with lots of takeaways to make a difference to your organisation.

 

Digital Transformation: Building the charity you want, on purpose – Time: 11:30am-12:00

OJO Solutions and The House will explore how to build a resilient and maturing digital charity by looking at why you exist and what purpose truly is. The session will look at how people, processes, culture and technological capabilities can shape and create the digital charity you want to be. Whether you’re a technology expert or new to the digital world, this session will use real-life examples to challenge your thinking and provide practical steps for effective digital transformation.

 

Finance FAQs with Milsted Langdon – Time: 12:05-12:35

Gill Freeman, Partner and Head of Charity and Not for Profit at award-winning accountancy practice Milsted Langdon, will explore the latest hot topics when it comes to opportunities and challenges for charities and not for profit organisations. The session will include a Q&A opportunity to discuss any burning finance and accountancy-related questions or issues affecting your organisation and to share experiences and best practice in a safe environment with supportive and like-minded peers in the third sector.
