TBE Charity Conference & Expo | Healthwatch, Bath and North East Somerset

By Nick Batten on 28 May, 2024

The sixth annual Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo is returning to Bath Racecourse on Thursday 13th June 2024.

The theme of the day is ‘Driving Positive Change’ with the aim to open up conversations around societal issues and how we can all work collectively to make a difference in our community.

The event is being delivered in partnership with our sponsors Milsted LangdonSt John’s Foundation and Stone King.

In the run up to the conference, we’ll be featuring some of the organisations who will be exhibiting on the day to find out more about their mission and what delegates can expect to learn from them at the event.

Today we hear from Josephine Fliski, Development Officer, Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset

Please give us an overview of your charity

Healthwatch Swindon, Bath and North East Somerset exists to be the health and social care champion for our communities. We make sure NHS leaders and other decision-makers hear your voice and use your feedback to improve care. As an independent statutory body, we have the power to make sure service providers listen to your feedback and improve their standards of care. In addition, we offer free confidential advice and information to help you navigate the world of healthcare and get the right support.

What will you be promoting on the day?

At this year’s expo we want to share our priorities for the year, to gather views on these and our project with a student from the University of Bath. Exploring the complex relationship between substance use and mental health in young people.

We are seeking both young people’s views to learn more about any obstacles hindering their access to support and the barriers organisations face in delivering their services.

What have you learnt/enjoyed about past TBE Charity Conference & Expos?

This will be our third year attending the TBE Charity Conference & Expo. It’s a fabulous opportunity to meet other organisations that put people at the heart of what they do. Whilst also showcasing our projects and opportunities to support the work we do.

What are you most looking forward to about the day?

Meeting as many delegates and organisations as possible, to ensure we are providing an equitable and diverse representation of the communities we serve.
