TBE Charity Conference & Expo to highlight the importance of Age Friendly communities

By Anita Jaynes on 7 May, 2024

The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo 2024 in partnership with Milsted Langdon, Stone King and St John’s Foundation is set to host a key seminar on building age friendly communities.

The theme of the event which takes place on Thursday 13th June at Bath Racecourse is ‘Driving Positive Change’ and St John’s Foundation and Age UK will be discussing how they’re doing just that.

Last year, in a significant collaborative effort, an alliance of determined charities and organisations came together to kickstart a ground-breaking programme that aims to make Bath and North East Somerset an Age Friendly Community.

This transformative two-year initiative brings together organisations with a common aim of driving societal change that improves the lives of older adults in our region.

The seminar will be presented by Lynn Toman, Head of Good Living at St John’s and Simon Allen, CEO of Age UK Bath & North East Somerset.

It will cover:

  • What the Age Friendly initiative is and how it will improve the lives of older adults
  • How collaborative working brings about societal change
  • How can local services and businesses can become more age friendly

All local businesses and service providers are welcome to attend this free session, but registration is essential.

The seminar is scheduled from 10:15-10:45am.
