By Anita Jaynes on 13 May, 2024

The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo is set to return to Bath Racecourse on Thursday 13th June 2024 with a theme of ‘Driving Positive Change’.

Conversations will be centred on societal issues and how we can all work collectively to make a difference in our community.

This year’s event is being delivered in partnership with sponsors Milsted Langdon, St John’s Foundation and Stone King.

One of the key seminars being delivered on the day is: ‘How public service delivery can change for the better, and how charities and social enterprises can be drivers of that change’.

The session is being hosted by Stone King which specialise in providing legal services to the charity, social enterprise and public service sectors.

Nicole Reed, a Senior Associate in Stone King’s charity and social enterprise team, will be delivering the seminar.

In the light of multiple factors having contributed to ongoing increases in public demand, cuts to funding, investment and resources, public services are in trouble. Nicole will discuss four ways the outlook could be improved, namely: collaboration; place-based community connections; re-investment; and social value.

Charity lawyer and Stone King Partner Tim Rutherford said Stone King’s team were looking forward to the event.

“Charities really sit at the heart of communities, providing valued services to ensure needs are met,” he said.

“The conference is a great way for us to listen to the work that charities are doing and see how we can support them.”

Stone King’s work for the charity sector sees it consistently top ranked by independent legal guides Chambers and the Legal 500. Stone King is also one of only three firms recognised as a Top Law Firm by The Times for its work with charities.
