New Bath restaurant to create 70 jobs

A new branch of the The Botanist – a restaurant chain owned by The New World Trading Company – is set to open its doors in Bath at the end of March.

Situated in Milsom Place, the award-winning restaurant brand is looking to recruit 70 new members of staff to support the bar and restaurant areas that take up four floors of the Grade II listed Octagon Chapel that was built in 1767.

Owners say that the Botanist, with its botanical interior adorned with trinkets, trees and treasures, will bring its “own unique offer” to the city, which includes botanical cocktails, craft ales and beers, and its famous Hanging Kebabs. The Botanist will also bring Sunday roasts to Milsom place, as well as a children’s menu.

Plans for the restaurant include live music each night and the opportunity for locals and those visiting the city to try their hand at cocktail, gin and ale master classes led by The Botanist’s experts.

Liam Wood, head of openings at The New World Trading Company said: “We have found the perfect venue in Bath and are excited to fill it with great food, drink and people.  Our staff are known for being friendly and attentive and we hope to attract brilliant staff to work with us at Milsom Place.”

Recruitment has now begun, with new roles being created for chefs, bar staff and front of house team.  Those interested can learn more by visiting the company website –
