Bath Office Company is on a mission to provide spaces for businesses of all shapes and sizes to call their own – a place to call work – without the risk, or hassle, of a standard commercial lease.

I’m Jamie Williams, Managing Director of Bath Office Company. Originally from Bath, I have spent time working in marketing and advertising in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia, settling back in the west country in 2017. We are a family business with my wife, Felicity, who has a background in PR, taking on the role of Communications Director.

Through our respective careers we have spent stints in various types of office accommodation – established locations of big brands, serviced spaces for smaller boutique agencies, coworking, and working from home as freelancers at the advent of the covid pandemic. It was this experience combined with some commercial property familiarity that instigated the founding of the business.

After a few months of the first lockdown, we saw a gap in Bath for an office model that bridges the gap between coworking and traditional leases. Although risky given the circumstances, our bet was that home working wouldn’t work for every business forever, and that as we emerged from the pandemic, demand – particularly for flexible – office space, would return, and that this would be especially true in Bath which offers the right mix of city and country lifestyle.

Thankfully, we’re now seeing a full spectrum of businesses enquiring about and choosing our serviced office proposition; seeing value in an ability to flex their requirements as new, often hybrid, ways of working are defined. We want to help our customers settle into their environment, so encourage them to make the space they inhabit befitting of their brand.

Looking forwards, we plan to take on space serviced with a front desk, enabling us to offer a wider range of clerical services. A huge part of our vision includes bringing local businesses together, collaborating to benefit the wider community and future of Bath’s city centre.
