Keeping positive through Lockdown 3.0 – Naturally Social

By Ben Carey on 26 February, 2021

With the end of Lockdown 3.0 seemingly within grasp, it’s important to remain positive as we head towards the light at the end of the tunnel.

Since the start of 2021 we have enjoyed receiving and reading your thoughts on coping strategies, positive thinking and aspirations for the year, sharing your valuable insights with the business community across the region.

Rachael Luckham, Business Manager at Naturally Social, talks about keeping a journal, having a year of happiness and avoiding negative social media posts.

How are you keeping positive through Lockdown 3.0?

I’m taking time to reflect more. If I am feeling down or negative about something, I have a journal to write things down in, so that feels like a weight shifted once it’s in there.

I’m also trying to avoid reading negative social media posts (they’re not helpful for anyone) and replace those with watching a few funny TikTok videos!

How are you structuring your day? Have you changed your habits?

My day has been quite the same! I worked from home three days a week before lockdown, so its similar. That said, I could structure my non-working time better!

One of the habits that has changed since lockdown has been to take a full lunch break. I now ensure I’m taking my hour lunch away from the computer, which has been really helpful.

Are you doing anything new?

Journaling is a new lockdown thing. I’m also listening to more music instead of watching television and I’ve started learning German again.

Have you changed your New Year resolutions?

I didn’t make a New Year resolution, instead I chose to have a ‘themed’ year. This year is the year of happiness! I’m making sure to do more of what makes me happy and do random acts of kindness to friends and family along the way too.

Have you introduced any new rituals?

I don’t think so! I write to my Grandma once a week, but that’s a recent thing, if that counts…

What are you most looking forward to when restrictions are lifted?

So many things! Seeing friends and family and going out for a Sunday lunch at the pub will be great. Getting back into the office and of course a holiday would be amazing too.

What is your biggest goal this year?

Professionally to continue to build my knowledge and skills on Pinterest and grow our clients’ accounts.

Personally, just to be happier and do more of what I love!

What has the past year taught you and how has it shaped your future for the better?

That I’m actually pretty organised and disciplined when it comes to working at home. Having had practice in previous jobs, the swap over from office working to working from home has been straight forward.

I think that will (hopefully) shape the future of other things which I’m less disciplined on.
