On behalf of a private client, Carter Jonas has sold a 12,901 sq ft industrial/warehouse building on Marston Trading Estate in Frome to Bath’s oldest established joinery company Hawker Joinery.
This expansion is another exciting development for Hawker Joinery, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019. Its new site includes a detached, self-contained industrial building of a steel portal frame construction and a two-storey office space, with planning already consented for an additional 9,041 sq ft unit, located on a generous sized site of just under an acre.
The property has a prominent position on Marston Trading Estate, a vibrant business hub located on Whitworth Road. Other occupiers on-site include Weeks Commercial, LGS Training, and Fine Quality Feather Co. The estate benefits from excellent links to Bath and the regions of Wiltshire, Dorset and Bath and North East Somerset.
Alison Williams, Partner, Commercial, Carter Jonas said, “The south west industrial market has had a stellar year, and Frome is particularly sought after by businesses looking to grow their operations in the region.
“Investor appetite for this type of property continues at a pace. We received a high level of interest in the site from a range of buyers attracted to the variety of accommodation, its prominence and potential. It seems particularly fitting that, as we look ahead to 2022, Hawker Joinery has secured this location to continue their expansion as they make plans to ensure their future success and look forward to celebrating another 100 years.”
Mitchell Thomas, Commercial Director of Hawker Joinery, added, “All our team are delighted with the acquisition as it will allow us to immediately further invest in our production capabilities to meet the ongoing strong demand for high-quality bespoke joinery.”
