The GradTalent Development Agency, a free resource helping connect local employers and local graduates.

For SMEs, recruiting a new graduate employee can be both time consuming and challenging. For graduates, securing that first career opportunity after graduation can also be very difficult. The current circumstances affecting us all has not made the world of recruiting or job seeking any easier.

The South-West now has a specialist graduate employment service for both local employers and local graduates. The GradTalent Development Agency (GTDA) is an Office for Students funded project operated by Bath Spa University in partnership with the University of Bath, Bath College and the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

This fully funded service not only offers a full recruitment solution, it also provides post placement support to both the employer and the graduate at no cost. For example, when the graduate commences work they will be invited to complete a professional strengths profile by a qualified assessor to support them in further developing their strengths and potential on the job.

“Employing a graduate can often be the most cost effective way to bring fresh ideas, skills and innovation to your business” said GTDA Project Manager, Kevin Garvey. “Offering home grown talent the opportunity to remain in the local community is beneficial to both the employer and the region”, he said.

For a limited time, South West businesses recruiting a graduate through GTDA will receive £250. Kevin Garvey said,This money is available for SMEs to put towards the on-boarding and induction of their new graduate employee.”

This limited time funding offer also includes £150 for graduates securing a graduate job through GTDA. “This is an employment starting fund that can be used towards commencing new graduate employment”, said Kevin Garvey. “The graduate can use the funds towards costs such as transportation, work clothes or equipment.”
