The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo returns to Bath Racecourse on Thursday 13th June 2024.
This year’s theme is ‘Driving Positive Change’, with sessions and conversations centring on societal issues and how we can all work collectively to make a difference in our community. The annual Charity Conference started in 2019, and this year’s event is being delivered in partnership with our sponsors Milsted Langdon, St John’s Foundation and Stone King.
Attracting attendees and exhibitors from across the country including Devon, Dorset, Manchester and London, the Conference has grown to be a flagship event for the TBE network and promises a wealth of opportunities to connect, converse and contribute.
Genesis Trust Bath is one of this year’s exhibitors. We spoke to Business Relationship Manager Rachel Baker about the charity and why the South West Charity Conference & Expo is an important event in the calendar.
Tell us about Genesis Trust Bath
Genesis Trust Bath helps people affected by poverty and other complex disadvantages by providing immediate practical help in times of crisis and offering longer-term support and opportunities for visitors to overcome poverty, make healthy choices, rebuild their lives, improve their wellbeing and work towards new beginnings and a better future.
Our approach is compassionate and trauma-informed and tackles issues such as housing, mental ill-health, addiction, isolation, low confidence and self-esteem, and low income. Thanks to our support, clients can address immediate needs and move forward with their lives, participating in meaningful activities and connecting with the community.
We support people affected by poverty in all its forms, homelessness, mental ill-health, and other complex needs.
Why are you exhibiting this year?
The Charity Conference & Expo will be a fantastic platform to enable us to talk one-on-one with companies, other charities and individuals who want to know more about the complexities and struggles our clients face and how we are supporting them. Most importantly we will explain how someone can have a positive impact and promote change independently and as a corporate team.
What opportunities does the Charity Conference and Expo provide for you?
We have attended the TBE Charity Conference & Expo in previous years and have enjoyed the opportunity to meet and connect with people from local businesses and other charities and non-profits. Some great relationships have been built on conversations at our stall and at the stalls of others.
The seminars were informative, and it has been a good opportunity both to learn and to keep updated with all that is offered and available so that we can work together to support people in need in Bath.
What are you looking forward to at the event?
Events like TBE’s Charity Conference & Expo are crucial to connecting charities striving for change with companies that want to make a difference but do not know where to start. The entire day should be fantastic, (it has been in previous years.) Not only will we be enjoying a networking breakfast to start, but there will also be some great keynote speakers to watch and plenty of opportunities to build new connections and relationships. We are most looking forward to making these new connections.
