Local firm Cardwave has launched a new product designed to protect valuable and sensitive data from unauthorised access whilst on the move.
The SafeToGo® 302E, a hardware encrypted flash drive, is the latest in the company’s range of encrypted USB devices and has been designed to be compatible on different operating systems including iOS and Windows 7 and upwards.
Over 20 million unencrypted USB drives are lost or stolen every year. Data stored on an unencrypted drive can be accessed by anyone, posing risks for business and organisations particularly in the GDPR era.
The loss of sensitive data can be extremely costly and lead to major disruption, reputational damage and bad publicity.
In the past some organisations have gone as far as to ban portable storage devices, but at a time when working remotely is being embraced by forward-thinking organisations, the ability to transfer data safely and securely on a portable device is more important than ever.
The SafeToGo® 302E uses hardware encryption to add extra security and give users peace of mind. By creating a hardware encrypted USB device, Cardwave has created a more secure system of storage than traditional software encrypted devices which are more susceptible to hacking.
The device, which is available in capacities from 8GB to 128GB, also has a multi-lingual user interface including English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Spanish opening up international markets for the product.
