Bristol follows in Bath’s footsteps with virtual business festival

Following the success of the virtual Bath Business Festival in July, the Event Organisers Network (EON) will be hosting Bristol’s inaugural event later this month.

On Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th September between 10am and 2pm, the Bristol Business Festival will celebrate everything the city’s business community has to offer, providing opportunities for learning, sharing and networking.

The events will consist of keynote speakers giving the ‘big picture’ in each segment, followed by one-hour expert panels sessions. There will also be an expo area alongside a series of workshops providing insights, guidance, expert advice and support to get businesses firmly back on track.

Founder of EON, Franco de la Croix-Vaubois, has over 20 years’ experience in hospitality and events.

His passion lies with people; making meaningful connections, building and nurturing relationships, sharing knowledge and expertise and referring business to friends and colleagues.

With plenty of positive feedback from the Bath event, Franco has put together a schedule for Bristol with 10 segments focusing on key areas of the economy.

The sectors covered are:

  • Retail
  • Hospitality, Tourism and Events
  • Public and Third sector
  • Health, Wellbeing and Environment
  • Recruitment, HR, Training and Education
  • Digital, Tech and Engineering
  • Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment
  • Professional Services (finance, banking, insurance and legal)
  • Small Business and Start-Ups
  • Construction and Real Estate

Franco de la Croix-Vaubois said, “This is a virtual event to fit around your schedule, relevant to your business, bespoke to you and allowing you to hop in and out from home or the office. The workshops will cover key areas of busines including: sales; marketing; social media; mindset, continuity and resilience; outsourcing; virtual event planning and finances.

“Business sectors are traditionally quite siloed in their thinking and approach, tending to only look within their own industry for innovation and progress. Through the wonders of virtual events, businesses can easily go beyond this siloed thinking. The solutions are out there and it is by all coming together, sharing ideas, expertise and best practice across all business sectors that we will accelerate our economic recovery. We’re inviting everyone to get involved and benefit from great content, great networking and the positive boost that we all need in these challenging times.”

Kathryn Davis, Head of Tourism at Destination Bristol and Interim CEO at Visit Bath, said, “We are delighted to be a partner of the Bristol Business Festival. The tourism and hospitality industry has been devastated over the last few months. This is an opportunity for us to be on hand to talk virtually to businesses and share information and insights.  We look forward to working with others to help businesses begin their recovery and plan for the future as the industry rebuilds, with opportunities for networking, learning and sharing.”
