Participants in this year’s Bath Half Marathon could be in line for a boost to their chosen charities thanks to an initiative from Bishop Fleming.
As this year’s title partner, the Bath-based accountancy and advisory firm has pledged to help 20 Bath Half runners with their fundraising efforts by giving them a chance to win £100 for their cause.
Bishop Fleming, which is celebrating its centenary in 2019, will have its own team of 120 runners taking part in the Bath Half event – officially the largest participation by a corporate partner in the history of the event. The company has set itself an ambitious fundraising target of £100,000 for its runners, in addition to it’s £2,000 charity prize pot.
Andrew Sandiford, Bath Half entrant and Managing Partner of Bishop Fleming said, “We are thrilled to support the Bath Half and want to really show the local community that we are genuinely committed to giving something back. So instead of using our marketing budget on cheap giveaways, we’ve simply decided to give it away.
“That way, we can have a bigger impact supporting runners who are raising money for good causes. Together with the monies our 120 runners raise I believe we will raise a significant amount for charity through our sponsorship of the Bath Half.”
To be in with a chance to win £100 for your chosen charity you must be a registered runner in 2019 Bath Half, raising money for a registered charity.
All you need to do is share a selfie on race day over social media with details of which charity you are running for and why, using the hashtag #BF100.
20 lucky winners will be randomly drawn out of the hat by the organisers of the Bath Half after the race and £100 donations will be made to each winning runners’ charity by Bishop Fleming after the event.
The Bath Half Marathon 2019 takes place on Sunday 17th March.
