What time do you get up?

I’m unusual (that is the polite version) in that I get up at 3.30am every morning, Sunday’s included.

What helps you to get your day off on the right foot?

The early rise gives me oodles of space, so a typical morning sees some gentle breath meditation, e-mails and a workout. If there is work that needs catching up on, then it’s a solid, uninterrupted time of day when I am hugely productive.

What is your commute like?

We have two offices – one is a one minute walk from home, and the other a 35 minute drive to the beautiful Chew Valley (with irritatingly poor mobile reception).

What’s the first thing you do when you get to the office?

Cup of hot water and an hour keeping the emails up to date. Often this is also the time I’ll catch up with my business partner to make sure we are on the same page.

Where’s your favourite place to go for lunch?

Another unusual way of living – I don’t eat lunch… find it makes me sleepy and slows me down in the middle of the day.

What is the best part about your job?

The people – the privilege of helping others (individuals or owner managed businesses) to understand and develop their relationship with money, knowing that I might be one of the few people in their lives that they can have this conversation with.

What piece of equipment could you not live without?

I could say my phone, or my laptop, but really it’s my new car! It’s an RS7 and its indispensable because it reminds me that life is about having fun and not everything needs to be so serious.

How do you unwind after work?

I am blessed to have a steam room in the house – but even better than that is the dinner conversation with the family, sharing our days and the love in our lives.
