Angela Humble is the General Manager of Hampton by Hilton Bath City hotel based on Avon Street in the heart of the city. Angela has managed the hotel since it opened in February 2022. The hotel welcomes guests from around the world, visiting Bath for both business and pleasure. It has 202 guest rooms, spread over seven floors, and includes a modern bar, restaurant and 24-hour fitness centre.

We met Angela to find out more about her and the hotel.

How’s business this year?

Business so far this year is great. We’ve had a very successful first year since opening in early 2022 and we can see an uplift in both domestic and international stays that is having a positive effect on our results.

What’s unique about the Hampton by Hilton Bath City?

The Hampton team who have a true Hamptonality spirit. The team are so welcoming and take the time to interact with our guests to provide an even better experience. We all do our best to go the extra mile to deliver our 100% Hampton Guarantee.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Meeting and talking with people about what we can do and achieve together both guests and team members.

What’s your favourite thing about Bath?

There are many great things about the Bath, so this is tricky, but I think my favourite must be to take in some live music at the bandstand in Parade Gardens, by Pulteney Bridge, it’s such a lovely view onto the river Avon.

As a proud Scot, can you share with us a Scottish tradition that you love?

The Address to a Haggis on Burns Night, it’s a great poem by Rabbie Burns to celebrate his appreciation of the haggis, the bagpipers can be so animated, and the bagpipes give me goosebumps.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I have a passion for travel and fitness. I love discovering new destinations and meeting new people. I enjoy time out on my bike riding through the beautiful country lanes of Bath and enjoy soaking up the atmosphere in Bath with a cocktail.

Can you tell us more about your offering for the corporate market?

We offer a fantastic new hotel build with stylish bedrooms in the heart of Bath city centre and just 7-minutes from Bath Spa train station. Corporate guests can also make use of the spacious communal area, ideal for working throughout the day or socialising in the evening after work. We are also working towards achieving the Green Key International accreditation to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability, which we know is important for our corporate clients, with initiatives such as blue and green gardens and solar panels on our roof.

Who are you looking to connect with?

We are looking to build even better links with our local and wider communities of Bath and open to new opportunities to work collaboratively with the thriving business and education sectors to make Bath an even better destination.

If you could share one message with our readers, what would it be?

Let’s connect! I look forward to working together.
