Purpose-driven consultancy The House becomes Bath’s first B Corp

Creative agency The House has become the first business in Bath to be awarded B Corp status.

B Corps are for-profit companies that voluntarily meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance – a bit like Fairtrade for coffee – as well as committing to business models that deliver positive impact.

The House joins UK B Corps including Ella’s Kitchen, JoJo Maman Bebe, Pukka Herbs, Divine Chocolate and Neighbourly, as well as global brands such as Ben & Jerry’s, Patagonia and Etsy.

Steve Fuller, co-founder of The House, said: “As a consultancy that specialises in purpose and culture, becoming an accredited B Corp will boost our efforts to help inspired business leaders to ‘do well by doing good’. It places us at the heart of a worldwide community of over 2000 like-minded, impactful businesses who are working together to make business a force for good.”

The House helps business leaders to sharpen “purposeful advantage”: achieving commercial success by approaching society’s greatest challenges as business opportunities and connecting purpose to strategy and culture.

Kate Sandle, community manager at B Corp, said: “We are delighted to welcome The House to the UK B Corp Community. The B Corp movement is a global community of businesses who are using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. We admire The House’s long standing commitment to working with aligned businesses – ensuring that business is a force for good.”
