South West-based chartered accountancy firm, MHA Monahans has appointed Immy Hellawell as its events assistant.

Immy joins the company from Roke, an electronics engineering consultancy, where she was marketing and communications co-ordinator – responsible for internal and external events.

According to MHA Monahans, she brings a wide range of skills to the role, having had an “exciting” international equestrian career after leaving school which included looking after horses in the London 2012 Olympics.

In her new role, Immy will be responsible for the company’s schedule of events across the region, organising “all aspects” including identifying interesting speakers, appealing venues, writing invitations and co-ordinating the whole process.

Immy said: “MHA Monahans has a great schedule of regular and one-off events across all of its different specialisms and I’m looking forward to developing them into unmissable parts of the region’s business calendar.

“Events are something I’m passionate about as I enjoy working with different personalities, using my skills in planning and logistics and making things happen, as well as getting people to be where they need to be to represent the company at other events in the region.”

Simon Tombs, managing partner at MHA Monahans, added: “Events are a key part of our offer to clients and fellow professionals to help everyone stay ahead of the game and fully informed. Immy is already an integral part of the marketing team and will be sure to make our events unmissable in the region.”

Upcoming events in the area include the ‘Swindon Bank of England Breakfast’ with guest speaker Donna Kehoe on 16 February and the ‘Chippenham Business Breakfast’ at the Chippenham Golf Course on 7 March.
