Bath’s MyLife Digital (MLD) has joined forces with London-based GMA Consulting with an agreement to distribute each other’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) solutions to “new and existing customers.”

Under this partnership, GMA will offer Consentric Permissions to its customers, and MLD will use and add GMA’s GDPR Portal to its partner portfolio. GMA’s GDPR Portal is a cloud-based solution that provides small and medium-sized organisations with “a cost-effective way” to manage its compliance with the new data protection legislation. It holds a suite of “easy-to-use” tools which enable the collating of a variety records including, the types of data (e.g. email addresses) it processes, where data is stored and who the data is shared with.

Holly Walker, compliance manager at MyLife Digital, said: “We decided to use GMA’s GDPR Portal because of its user-friendly interface that is 100% tailored to capture how our business handles data under GDPR. It provides us with the ability to show our data landscape in a clear dashboard-style view in whichever perspective is needed, by data category, data collection method or where the data is stored.”

GDPR Portal will work alongside MLD’s Consentric Permissions solution for organisations. Permissions enshrines the relevant GDPR articles and acts as the “single source of truth” for consents and permissions across all organisational systems and processes.

Ben Grey, the owner of GMA and founder of GDPR Portal said that GMA is “extremely pleased” to have forged this partnership with MyLife Digital and to add Consentric Permissions to its portfolio of GDPR solutions.”

He added: “Consentric complements GDPR Portal extremely well. We are also delighted that MyLife Digital has chosen to use GDPR Portal itself for documenting how it processes personal data. Having an organisation with the credentials of MyLife Digital select our platform is a considerable achievement for us.”

MLD claims that using GDPR Portal and Consentric Permissions will help support an organisation’s compliance towards GDPR ahead of the 25 May 2018 enforcement deadline.
