Fewer than six months after picking up the Tolley’s Taxation Best Practice in a Regional Firm Award 2016, and recruiting 15 new staff to meet increased client demand, Milsted Langdon has built on its successes by acquiring accountancy and tax practice CCPtax.

Milsted Langdon acquired the North Somerset based practice, which traded as Colin Coates & Partners, with operations being merged on September 30.

Two of CCPtax’s directors, Colin Coates and Robin Simmonds, have now announced their retirement but will remain on hand to assist with the business transfer. The third, Mike Ashley, will continue as a director with Milsted Langdon.

Commenting on the merger, Colin said: “We are delighted to have found a local firm that we believe has similar views to ours regarding the personal approach, quality of service and work provided for clients. We are certain they will be in safe and expert hands with Milsted Langdon.”

Milsted Langdon chairman, Jonathan Langdon, said:“Milsted Langdon is always looking for opportunities to merge with like-minded practices whose values and approach match our own.

We are delighted to have acquired CCPtax, and we look forward to welcoming and working with its clients. Mike Ashley is a valuable addition to our senior team, and his move to Milsted Langdon will ensure a smooth transition following the merger.”
