Bath pub, The Curfew Ale House located on the corner by Cleveland Bridge, has undergone a complete renovation as new landlords Daniel and Emily Brew take the reigns.
The new look Curfew is beer-led, focusing on a wide range of traditional ales, plus specially-selected wines and complemented by a simple lunchtime and evening food menu, with meat and vegetables sourced from local suppliers for the freshest ingredients and to support local businesses.
Emily said: “Our menu is small and perfectly formed comprising of just eight dishes done well, with some lighter options available for lunch. All our food will be freshly made onsite, including our family favourite bar snack, ‘Dan’s Nuts’. In addition, we open at 7:30am Monday to Saturday, offering fresh coffees, tea, hot chocolate and soft drinks to consume in or take away, accompanied by fresh pastries.”
The renovation has involved far more than lick of paint. The pub has been sympathetically renovated, retaining period features and using traditional heritage colours for the paintwork. The interior has been stripped out, the ceiling on the ground floor raised and a new bar fitted.
On the first floor, the former games room is now an elegant function room with its own bar, as well as a screen for viewing TV or for presentations, with full cabling connection installed. It is available for private hire and accommodates up to 70 people for a buffet or up to 40 people for a sit-down meal.
Outside, the beer garden has been renovated and is a veritable sun trap from which to enjoy a refreshing beer or the perfect glass of wine with friends and family.
Dan added: “Between building works and establishing a new business, Emily and I have been out and about in Bath meeting other landlords, suppliers and potential customers. We are very excited about this new venture and look forward to welcoming as many Bathonians and visitors as possible.”
