Bath Racecourse has pulled out all the stops once again for Ladies Day (Saturday August 20) and this year is offering a huge £1,000 cash prize for ladies taking part in its increasingly popular ‘Best Dressed’ competition.

Ladies Day is a key feature on the local Bath calendar and last year attracted over 5,000 racegoers. Most ladies getting into the spirit by wearing a hat or a fascinator as part of the traditional outfit etiquette for the day.  As new feature to this year’s event, the Racecourse will install a beautiful flower wall where racegoers can take selfies, pop-up hospitality areas are also planned as well as the new Roof Garden in the Langridge featuring a cocktail bar for the afternoon.

With the Bath Racecourse redevelopment now fully complete, the venue has created a range of new hospitality and ticket packages including access to its new Langridge Grandstand for Ladies Day. A luxury Hamper hospitality package, and Fabulous Fillies champagne afternoon tea are just two of the packages available to purchase in advance. A ticket including access to a viewing spot in the grandstand begins at £22 per person.

Jo Hall, Executive Director at Bath Racecourse said: “Ladies Day is one of the most keenly anticipated and enjoyable racing fixtures to attend in the season. We have always had a huge crowd at our Ladies Day and it’s an ideal way for those people who are not familiar with racing to just come along and soak up the atmosphere, as well as enjoy the occasion of getting dressed up. This year we wanted to encourage even more people to attend, which is why we have put up a huge cash prize and there are many other spot prizes including the opportunity to win a luxury Lexus car for the weekend. I am sure we are going to have some very glamourous ladies and the job of judging is going to be incredibly difficult.”

Registration to enter the Ladies Day competition is free for all racegoers who simply attend a special area on the day to have their picture taken. Judging takes place throughout the day and the winner is also announced before the end of the racing programme.
