Key appointment speeds Hospitality Group’s expansion plans

Bath Hospitality celebrated its first anniversary with the appointment of a new Vice President.

Experienced hospitality operator Vipul Kapur has joined Sanjoy Roy at Bath Hospitality Limited (BHL) on Newbridge Road and will play a key part in an ambitious expansion programme.

Vipul was formerly Deputy Hotel Manager at the Hilton in the city and has a total of 14 years’ experience across Resorts, Airport hotels, City Centre hotels and Cruise liners.

He said: “Having worked at the Bath Hilton for three years I am very familiar with the city’s tourist industry and the high standards expected from its hospitality operators.

“The dynamics are very different at a hotel of this size but I know the ambition is there to expand over the next few years.”

Director Sanjoy Roy said: “The idea is to allow Vipul to find a new manager at Aquae Sulis and bring it up to speed with his own well-stablished management systems – allowing me more freedom to concentrate on expansion and acquisitions.”

“We have refurbished our rooms and taken on new staff – but I believe Vipul will be the bridge between where we are now and where we want to be in five years’ time.

“A person with Vipul’s qualifications is rather wasted at a B&B of this size but he will be in a position to manage our expansion plans both here at Aquae Sulis and elsewhere in Bath.”

Sanjoy Roy along with his business partner in India, formed Bath Hospitality Ltd and bought the 14-bedroom Edwardian hotel on Newbridge Road in August last year.

“It has taken us some time to recognise and work around the fundamental cultural differences but we have established some valuable business connections which have been an immense help in advising and achieving our goal.”
