Jonothan McColgan, director of Bath-based Combined Financial Strategies, has been shortlisted for Financial Adviser of the Year at the 2017 Growth Investor Awards for the third year running.

The awards, which are sponsored by LGBR Capital, recognise “innovation and impact” in small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) investment in the UK, and celebrate forward-thinking intermediaries who “promote tax-efficient investments.”

Commenting on the award nomination, Jonothan – who is the current reigning Financial Advisor of the Year – said, “I am really proud to be nominated as a finalist for the third year in a row and it is a real honour to have the opportunity to defend this prestigious title that I won in 2016 against some of the best Financial Advisers from across the UK.”

Jonothan will be competing in the Financial Adviser of the Year category alongside five fellow finalists, they are Alistair Candlish of Carrington Investments, Dennis Hall of Yellowtail Financial Planning, Stephen Jones of Clear Solutions, Nick Reeves of Tilney and Vanessa Townshend of Springfield Financial. The winner will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner for 450 guests, which will be held on Wednesday November 8 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

Jack Rose, business development director for Tax Products of LGBR Capital, said, “The quality of advisers active in the tax efficient investment sector has been demonstrated by the ‘Financial Adviser of the Year’ shortlist for the past two years, so LGBR Capital is therefore delighted to support the Growth Investor Awards campaign for a third consecutive year.”

Launched by Intelligent Partnership in 2015, the Growth Investor Awards recognise those that are helping start-up and ‘scale-up’ businesses realise their full potential and power Britain’s economy. As well as celebrating the contribution made by intermediaries through awards such as Financial Adviser of the Year and Wealth Manager of the Year, this year’s expanded awards programme features a total of 16 categories including Growth Champion of the Year, Most Impactful Investment, Best Angel Syndicate and Corporate Investor of the Year.com
