The Gainsborough Bath Spa named Hotel of the Year 2017

The Gainsborough Bath Spa has been named Hotel of the Year in England at the 2017 AA Hospitality Awards.

The Hotel of the Year is the top accolade for hospitality services across the country. The hotel’s restaurant, Dan Moon at the Gainsborough Restaurant was also commended with three AA rosettes, confirming the restaurant’s place amongst the finest in England.

The awards event was hosted on September 25, 2017 at the Grosvenor Hotel, Park Lane. Celebrating excellence within the British travel industry, it was attended by world-renowned chefs, prominent hoteliers, restaurateurs, hospitality gurus and the media.

The award recognised The Gainsborough for its combination of customer service, facilities and an all-encompassing guest experience.

This year, as a result of Head Chef Dan Moon’s ever-growing profile, the hotel renamed its signature restaurant as Dan Moon At The Gainsborough Restaurant. The AA has recognised the restaurant’s outstanding reputation and success by awarding three rosettes, an honour that distinguishes the consistent excellence of Dan Moon’s cuisine, along with the restaurant’s dedicated, intuitive service and superb wine list. Dan’s ever-developing menus combine pioneering cooking techniques and theatrical presentation to provide an all-consuming dining experience.

Commenting on the win, Andrew Jordan, Vice President of YTL, owners of The Gainsborough said: “I am hugely proud of the whole team at The Gainsborough as this award proves that their consistent hard work to make our hotel the absolute best of the best has paid off. The Gainsborough has always held significance as YTL Hotels’ first property in the UK, and this award has come at a time when we are preparing for further expansion, so this recognition feels all the more relevant for the exciting projects ahead.”

A leading hospitality brand in the UK, the AA Hospitality Awards have been recommending quality hotels since their inception in 1905. The Hotel of the Year Award was first awarded in 1992 and continues to commend outstanding examples of hospitality across all fields.
