Fitzroy House apartments go on show

A new luxury show apartment on one of Bath’s most famous of streets has opened.

The first phase of apartments at Fitzroy House on Great Pulteney Street are now available to reserve after several months of renovation work and four of the apartments have already been snapped up.

The Grade I Listed Building, which was formerly used as a sheltered housing complex, is being painstakingly refurbished into a collection of high quality apartments.

Bath-based company Longacre are the developers behind the stylish one, two and three bedroom apartments.

Work taking place includes the removal of modern alterations such as suspended ceilings, doors, internal partitions and corridors and the reinstatement of some of the building’s historic characteristics including stone floors, front doors, steps to the basement and decorative cornicing.

The 28 unique apartments, which start at £450,000, are arranged across five former townhouses and over six floors. Apartments on the lower levels boast gardens or courtyard space, whereas apartments on higher levels enjoy stunning views of Bath.

Mark Tyrrell, of Longacre, said “We are delighted with how the refurbishment of Fitzroy House is progressing. The development is proving very popular because people want lateral living space, the use of a lift and a level walk into Bath.  We agreed four sales over the launch weekend.

“At Longacre we take pride in our projects, which have seen a number of prominent listed buildings within the World Heritage City of Bath renovated and restored, creating elegant and highly sought after homes.”

Longacre has extensive experience in converting Bath’s Listed Buildings. Last year the company unveiled its conversion of a redundant Grade I Listed Building in the city centre at One Bilbury Lane. The project created six luxury apartments and a bespoke penthouse apartment.

Other schemes have included the renovation of a Grade II Listed property, which created 19 flats, and the reconfiguration of vacant council-owned terraced properties, to create a collection of high quality apartments.
