Combined Financial Strategies scoops top award

The Bath-based financial advisor, Combined Financial Strategies, has been named Retirement Planner of the Year at the Retirement Planner Forum & Awards 2016.

As part of the awards process, advisory firms entered a case study outlining how they have worked with clients to reach their retirement planning goals. The case studies were then assessed by a panel of expert judges including Association of Professional Financial Advisers director general Chris Hannant, Society of Later life Advisers joint-chairman Tish Hanifan and Later Life Academy managing partner Stuart Wilson.

Jonothan McColgan, director of Combined Financial Strategies said, “We’re very proud to have been recognised by both the financial industry and the financial press as the top company in the country at helping clients through retirement. We understand that it must be really difficult to know who to turn to at such an important stage of life. So, I hope that these awards help to demonstrate that we are an incredibly safe pair of hands to help you with those really tough retirement decisions.”

Jenna Towler, editor of Retirement Planner added, “By winning this award Combined Financial Strategies demonstrated a commitment to delivering the highest standards of retirement advice to their clients”.

Retirement Planner is a magazine dedicated to supporting financial advisers operating in the retirement space and covers a range of retirement issues including investments, pensions, retirement income and estate planning.

The win follows Combined Financial Strategies’ success in February this year at the unbiased.co.uk Media Awards when Jonothan was personally recognised as the At Retirement and Estate Planner of the Year. Additionally, the firm also won the Judges Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Media at the same awards.

According to Combined Financial Strategies, the unbiased.co.uk judges described the company as providing good and informative articles which were “groundbreaking on tax relief.”
