Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), a charity which supports children with life limiting and life threatening conditions, has recently received a bumper donation from popular retailer The Range.

The Range is one of the country’s fastest growing home, garden and leisure superstores, with 140 stores currently trading.  As the business has continued to expand the owner is pleased to be able to support a very worthwhile local charity.

CHSW runs three children’s hospices in the South West; Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Charlton Farm near Bristol and Little Harbour in St Austell. The hospices are on hand for short breaks, respite stays, palliative care, emergency stays as well as end of life care and bereavement support. The whole family is supported by the multidisciplinary teams at the hospices, giving families the chance to enjoy quality time together in a home from home environment making precious memories. It costs over 9 million a year to run all three hospices.

A spokesperson for The Range said “We are delighted to be able to donate to such a good cause. We have stores across the South West, so are pleased to be able to give something back to the community, especially to a charity that relies so heavily on voluntary contributions.”

Eddie Farwell, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Children’s Hospice South West said: “On behalf of all of the children and families that we support at Children’s Hospice South West, I would like to say a huge thank you to Chris Dawson and The Range for their wonderful donation. Such generosity enables us to continue to offer our care, to local children and their families, when they need it most.”

CHSW’s Charlton Farm is the only children’s hospice available to families from Bath and Somerset that offers care 365 days a year. To find out more about them visit: www.chsw.org.uk
