One of the South West’s leading accountancy firms Milsted Langdon has experienced a flurry of new appointments as it operations continue to grow.

Having won a number of awards in the last year – including being named Best Tax Practice in a Regional Firm 2016 at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards – the practice has been inundated with new work and enquiries, which has led to an expansion in many of its specialisms and the appointment of eight new members of staff.

Richard Warwick, Ricki Critchell, Roshanthi Redwood, Rebecca Brown, Emily Cockram, David Thorne, Mike Bagg and Julian Borley have all joined Milsted Langdon in recent weeks and months.

Richard Warwick, who is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, joins the firm’s Insolvency Department and brings with him a wealth of experience of both Corporate and Personal Insolvency Work, in the UK and overseas, following his time with large multi-regional and international firms. Richard’s recruitment means that the firm now boasts no less than six Licensed Insolvency Practitioners.

Another senior addition to the firm’s specialist teams, Ricki Critchell, has joined the firm as a Corporate Finance Manager in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions team based in Bristol.

Ricky specialises in managing sales processes for SMEs and owner-managed businesses, having worked on a number of transactions, in a variety of sectors, helping with deals ranging from £5 million – £30 million in value.

In addition to growth in corporate recovery and corporate finance, Milsted Langdon has also managed to attract some exciting high level talent to the tax team where Mike Bagg has joined as a Tax Director in Yeovil and Julian Borley as the firm’s new Director of VAT.

In addition to the senior recruits, the firm has continued its long tradition of helping the next generation of accountants take their early steps into a career by appointing two new trainees, Emily Cockram and David Thorne, both of whom will work within the General Practice department to gain experience of the day-to-day work of an accountant, alongside their studies towards professional qualifications.

Finally, the practice’s support teams have also grown with the recruitment of two former Debenhams employees Roshanthi Redwood and Rebecca Brown. Roshanthi joins Milsted Langdon as a Finance Administrator in their Financial Services team, while Rebecca will join the administrative staff at the firm’s Taunton office.

Jonathan Langdon, Chairman of Milsted Langdon, said: “I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all of our new starters. It is wonderful to see that our practice continues to attract the best local talent.

“These days there is tremendous competition for experienced staff and I am delighted that our professional reputation, commitment to training and flexible approach to employment means that we are seen as a very attractive place to work, as was confirmed in a recent employee survey.
