Property consultancy Alder King is inviting best bids on the former Keynsham Fire Station, a prominent site in the heart of the town centre which, subject to planning, is suitable for a variety of uses.

The property on Temple Street is being offered for sale or possibly to let by Avon Fire & Rescue Service and, within a matter of days of going on the market, has attracted substantial interest.

Emma Smith, associate at Alder King, said: “This is an interesting town centre site which has generated a lot of demand from a wide variety of end users, the majority of which are looking to re-use the existing fire station buildings.

“Within days of starting to market the property, we were inundated with enquiries.  As a result we’re inviting interested parties to submit their best bids by midday on Friday April 28.

“Inviting best bids in a competitive market is often the fairest way to progress matters for both the vendor and purchaser, helping to conclude a sale with a purchaser who can demonstrate its ability to pay a fair price and proceed in a timely fashion.”

Alder King is inviting best bids in excess of £325,000.  Expressions of interest must be received by Alder King by midday on Friday April 28.

The 2,576 sq ft single storey property is prominently positioned on a 0.17 acre site at the end of Keynsham’s busy High Street.  It has a wide frontage and access onto Temple Street as well as access from the rear yard.  Further information about the property is available fromhttp://www.alderking.com/property/91576/Keynsham-Fire-Station

The station closed in November 2015 as a result of its amalgamation with Brislington Fire Station into a new state of the art combined station at Hicks Gate.  Alder King sold the former Brislington Fire Station in 2016.  The property, which included a secure yard, also attracted significant interest from a number of parties and again went to best bids.  The successful purchaser was a local family-run business which acquired the freehold for an undisclosed sum.
